Job Summary
Sponsored Research is one of the most vital and fastest growing areas of the University. The function of this position is to support the operational and administration process, including research compliance monitoring, consultation with investigators and related data entry, analysis and reports of the Office of Research Ethics & Compliance, federal compliance committees, and various other committees. The position acts as a coordinator of office policies and procedures for Research Ethics & Compliance by the instruction of the Director of Research and Sponsored Programs and the Director of Research Ethics & Compliance.
Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$50,000 - $60,000 annual
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts.
- Two (2) years of professional level work experience related to research compliance.
- Successful experience in project management, administration, and database management.
- Experience in using research administration data management programs and database management, including form design, process development, and implementation.
- Demonstrated exemplary customer service and public relation skills, diplomacy, and tact working with faculty, students, staff, and the general public.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of export control laws, including regulations such as EAR, ITAR, and FAC.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite office programs such as: Word, Power Point, and advanced in Excel and Access

- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
- Good organizational and system skills and superbly detail-oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to create complex spreadsheets and generate reports using database programs.
- Certified IRB Professional, Certified IACUC Professional credential(s), or prior research compliance experience.
Work Hours
Core Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.
