JOB SUMMARY

The Gaming Compliance Officer is responsible for the process of developing, implementing, and monitoring gaming compliance with the property’s internal controls and procedures, so as to ensure compliance with applicable Tribal, Federal, State and local gaming and non-gaming regulations. All functions will be performed within the guidelines of the Downstream Casino Resort policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Serves as the Supporter of the Title 31 compliance program.

· Observe gaming activity to ensure that all regulations, policy and procedure are being met.

· Investigate gaming compliance issues and rectify any problems as soon as possible.

· Write detailed gaming compliance reports notifying management of any concerns or issues.

· Conduct internal audits to ensure all team members are following gaming operations compliance standards.

· Respond to any external audit findings regarding gaming operations.

· Maintain records of any gaming operations control activity or violations of regulations.

· Perform regular risk assessments.

· Write and/or review current gaming policies to ensure that all policies are current.

· Will prepare, review, and audit various gaming compliance programs, and conducting continuous self monitoring reviews of gaming activity.

· Communicate with management any weaknesses or a breach of the property’s internal gaming control system.

· Communicate policies and procedures regarding Title 31, Suspicious Activity / Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and general regulatory compliance.

· Prepares excel worksheets, procedure documents, and various other reports.

· Maintains compliance files including exception reports, testing results, promotion and/or policy submission approval.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.

· Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older upon employment.

· High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Hospitality Management, or pre-law preferred.

· Minimum of 2-3 years gaming experience required.

· 4 years internal audit, regulatory and/ or gaming finance experience required.

· Functional knowledge of ERM Control Framework, COSO Model, or Operating MICS preferred.

· Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations and be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino.

· Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.

· Must be able to stand, walk and move through all areas of the property.

The Downstream Casino Resort Adheres to all applicable Resolutions of the Quapaw Nation. Native American Preference policy does apply.Under Downstream Casino Resort employment, the duties described in this job description will also be performed for other Quapaw Nation owned business enterprises as needed, including, but not limited to, Saracen Development, LLC enterprises, Quapaw Casino, and the Quapaw Nation business office.

Pay: From $38,000.00 per year
