Collins Aerospace is looking for a Configuration Management Lead, Engineering who will support the various programs (BizJet, Military and Advanced Aircraft). You will be helping to support the current and future configuration management implementation for Aerostructures (ASG) Products & Systems. You will also have a great deal of interaction with internal & external customers and leadership throughout ASG.

Position is currently in a remote capacity.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide overall configuration management of Nacelle components and assemblies, including thrust reversers, inlets, and fan cowls.
  • Interface with internal & external customers globally
  • Develop, maintain, and ensure adherence to configuration management plans in support of the design development and production processes.
  • Interface with customers, partners, suppliers, and internal functions to establish configuration baselines and compliantly process engineering changes.
  • Coordinate with other functions to meet business standards, practices, and procedures as well as product/program requirements.
  • Execute product processes to ensure configuration control of from design definition thru product delivery.
  • Identify and conduct Continuous Improvement (CI) events where applicable
  • Execute the configuration management process
  • Interface with other relevant processes
  • Review process effectiveness and efficiency
  • Perform process audits
  • Drive continual process improvement
  • Perform other duties as needed

Basic Qualifications

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Experience with Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) Tools
  • Basic Configuration Management Concept experience
  • Experience with Microsoft O365 Suite including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience creating and making presentations to management

Preferred Qualifications

  • PLM Tools-Enovia and Teamcenter
  • Experience with SAP
  • Knowledge of industry standards for quality systems and robust product development for aerospace such as AS9100 and APQP
  • Continuous Improvement Tool experience: Lean, Six Sigma, ACE and/or CORE
  • Competency collaborating using virtual tools
  • Experience with generating product configuration metrics and reports
  • Competency collaborating using TEAMs, SharePoint and Zoom
  • Self-Starter for reaching best in class process for configuration and change management
  • Proven ability to coordinate & manage project issues, risks and changes
  • Understanding of the full engineering process including proposal development, new product introduction, in-production and in-service engineering, and aftermarket engineering.
  • Experience with systems based on the Capability Maturity Model Integration (Process Maturity model)
  • Knowledge of systems, hardware, data management for aerospace structures and equipment
  • Competent in applying CORE operating system to continuously strive for the alignment of goals, performance and capabilities demanded by Collins customers
  • MS Project experience

The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
