The Configuration Manager is responsible for operation, maintenance, and implementation strategy of the Configuration Management Data Base (CMDB) within the RSM ServiceNow platform. This includes preparing maintenance plans and procedures, providing coordination and execution on assigned projects, managing issues and risks, providing status reports, and creating and executing a strategy to leverage the information within the system to deliver value to the business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Operations & Maintenance

• Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
• Ensures the health of the data and data structure within the CMDB
• Validates the accuracy of data imported from our monitoring and discovery tools
• Develops and documents best practice procedures and policies to govern the use of the CMDB
• Develops and delivers periodic reports on the health and utilization of the CMDB

Project Support

• Works with the DASH development team to execute and CMDB related configuration changes
• Is available to facilitate testing of enhancements impacting the CMDB
• Works with the DASH training team to develop and validate training materials concerning CMDB use

Additional Responsibilities

• Meet with business stakeholders to understand their needs and develop solutions for our clients
• Communicate with vendor (ServiceNow) to understand and plan for future feature releases and changes
• Work with owners of integrated monitoring and discovery tools to improve our capabilities and service delivery

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or related field of study
• ServiceNow CSA Certification (preferred)
• ITIL Foundation Certification (preferred)

Technical Skills

• High level of competence with ServiceNow implementation and operations best practices
• Intermediate experience using Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, OneNote
• Familiarity with scripting languages (preferred)

Experience

• Management of enterprise scale CMDBs
• Deployment and optimization of discovery tools
• Utilization of ServiceNow ITOM module and features
• Worked with teams to deliver client facing solutions (preferred)
