Role

Reporting to the Sr. Project Director, the Construction Manager will oversee and direct construction activities of the Thacker Pass Project, ensuring delivery of the project to meet expectations in regard to safety, quality, project schedule, and budgets. This position will be primarily based in Winnemucca, NV, with presence at the project site once construction commences.

Responsibilities

• Strictly implement all project management processes, governance, control structure and value safety and a safe project environment
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and all other regulations. ZERO accidents/incidents are the only outcome of the project
• Plan the work for early works, offsites, upstream and downstream areas
• Ensuring the construction process start and ends on time, and ensuring daily and weekly deadlines are met
• Stay on time/budget
• Stay ahead of any required permitting/interface with local and state authority
• Manage risk, mitigating risks through proper management of tools/equipment and closely monitoring the work being performed
• Engaging on continuous basis with EPCM and ensure their plans, safety standard is up to date
• Partner successfully with key stakeholders such as EPCM, EDG PMT, local authority, communities, Sr. Project Director, other LNC discipline leads etc.
• Consult the Project Director with any change management procedures
• Skills to manage across diverse groups and stakeholders while optimizing the solutions
• Manage and motivate of all site teams
• Conduct ongoing quality inspections
• Actively participate in community activities and encourage EPCM and other site team to respect local traditions and engage in positive ways
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor s degree in construction, engineering, or similar qualification
• Proficient in MS office
• 10+ years of construction involving mineral processing, site, or engineering management experience
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
• Skilled at solving conflicts among contractors, EPCM, staff and suppliers
• Outstanding negotiation, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to take initiative and work independently in a results-oriented environment.
• Strong leadership skills.

Physical and Mental Demands and Requirements:

The Construction Manager must be able to:

• Legally operate a vehicle with a valid driver license
• Periodically work in environmental extremes (i.e., hot or cold weather).
• Sit and stand for extended periods of time.
• Stay alert during periods of inactivity.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment at all times.
• Walk on uneven ground.
