Production Theory is hiring for an exceptional leader as our Shop Supervisor/Construction Workerager of Games/Experiences! This position will oversee high-end, complex scenic builds, challenge games and other experiential activations for professional sports and entertainment industries.

This position is reserved for a highly professional, solution-oriented & self-starter candidate who has a proven record of successfully managing a scenic shop or multi-skilled construction team. You will work on multiple projects simultaneously with an elevated degree of improvising, adapting and overcoming planned or on-the-spot situations with broad focus on carpentry, metalwork/welding, laminate and other fabrication techniques.

Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Takes responsibility for job completion within estimated hours and ensures each employee performs at the level required for his or her position.
  • Coordinates with Creative and Draft team to ensure project is completed per specs.
  • Attends weekly production meeting and provide status information for each job in progress.

Personnel Management

  • Schedules daily staff duties and oversees the preparation and production of materials to meet daily/weekly deadlines; i.e., verifies that all material/product is available.
  • Interviews and hires new employees as required to meet the production demands.
  • Works with HR to arrange for Temporary hires when required to meet the production schedule.
  • Sets an example for shop on Production Theory core values to include work ethic, accountability, quality of work, positive attitude, and ability to get along with other employees.
  • Conducts regular performance evaluations and prepares formal written evaluations.
  • Recommends employees for promotion or demotion, based on their performance to the leadership team.

Fabrication

  • Oversees quality control process for all products produced.
  • Reads, understands, and follows blueprints/diagrams to position, align, fit and build complete projects or subsections with ability to improvise.
  • Builds frequently involve finish and detail work using laminate, glass, polycarbonate, hardwood and some metals.
  • Skilled artisan who is familiar and can work with laminate, wood, and plastics to finish high and medium end custom cabinets.
  • Operates hand and power tools common to the trade to include but not limited to circular/table/jigsaws, routers, sanders, drill guns, pneumatic tools, wrenches, etc.
  • Must be well versed in modern manufacturing & production techniques such as a CNC wood router, beam saw, edgebander, joiners, panel saw, joiners, and shapers.
  • Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.

Safety

  • Ensures and oversees that proper personal protection equipment is worn by installation crew at all times and that the job site work area is cleaned daily
  • Ensures and oversees that proper safety practices and procedures are used, including proper disposal of hazardous/toxic liquids or materials

Skills Required

  • Degree or certification(s) in civil/mechanical engineering is preferred, however will consider applications with specified scenic experience as well.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in scenic fabrication.
  • Mininum of 3 years managing or overseeing a construction team
  • Ability to adhere to meet or exceed deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Attention to fine details is a must.
  • Must be able to interact with clients of the highest caliber and be trusted to represent Production Theory's core values.
  • Primarily will work in our shop but occasionally will be required to fabricate onsite for installs.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $74,112.25 - $86,690.07 per year

Schedule:
