FPC has projects that range from $50,000 to $10M, and range across Commercial, Government, and Specialty Residential Sectors.
Job Overview:
Florida Palm Construction is looking for an skilled Construction Project Manager to plan and supervise a range of construction projects simultaneously from start to finish.
The Project Manager will organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner working closely with the field Construction Superintendents and our Government and Commercial Clients. The Project Manager must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate with teams of professionals of different disciplines to achieve quality results.
Responsibilities for Project Manager:
- Job Pre-start: Compile Schedule of Values and Job Schedule and submit to appropriate agencies in order to begin government billing.
- Create and submit submittal packages for agencies in accordance with AIA documentation.
- Assist in permit applications for project as needed by team members
- Use job estimates to build out actual Budget and issue purchase orders for subcontractors accordingly.
- Scope review of subcontractors against project plans and estimated scope details.
- Manage internal labor following estimations to ensure jobs on time and on budget.
- Track project costs in order to meet budget.
- Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
- Management subcontractors, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion following the project schedule.
- Regularly maintain and update data sheets for executive team.
- Follow job progress via blue prints and submittal documentation.
- Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
- Collaborating with team members weekly in Construction meetings
- Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
- Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors in regards to quality of work and scheduling.
- Generate invoices for the client based on percent completion.
- Must be able to travel to the job sites as assigned.
- Interface with association members, project inspectors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, clients, and insurance representatives
- Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications
- Ensure proper use of construction management software on all projects. All project documents should be uploaded and maintained. All projects should have accurate budgets in place. The PM needs to work coherently with the Estimator for the budget and schedule.
- Able to stay organized with all documents/drawings to easily transfer from preconstruction to completion of a project.
- Maintain professional rapport with Client’s
- Entering project data accurately and regularly to ensure accurate budget tracking and monitoring.
Qualification for Project Manager
- High school/ GED equivalent required; bachelor's degree in business or construction management preferred
- Simple Accounting, ability to read and create a project schedule.
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints efficiently.
- Proficient Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Projects)
- Able to read and interpret documents such as OSHA requirements, operating and maintenance instructions or procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports, and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, subcontractors or employees of organizations.
- Ability to use RS Means, Blue Beam, and other management software.
- 5+ years of project management and related experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
- Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
- Must be a team player
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize the importance of multiple tasks
- Deadline and detail-oriented
