Georgia HOPE Social Services SAFE Home Study Contractor collaborates with the Department of Family and Child Services to provide appropriate home study and licensing services to individuals and families in the Foster Care and Adoption program.

This position may transition from contractor status to employee,

Responsibilities:

• Complete SAFE Home Study assessments for prospective families
• Collaborate with DFCS Case Managers
• Assist with pre-adoptive home studies as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality of client’s and agency information.
• Support a goal that always has children and family’s best interest and is an active advocate for children and families. Understand and support family systems.
• Display understanding of and sensitivity to service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
• This position may require work on nights and weekends.
• Contribute to Georgia HOPE's culture of safety and inclusion by demonstrating a commitment to learning how to engage with issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Education and Experience:

Georgia HOPE is not currently able to consider candidates for this position if you do not already have the required certifications..

• Bachelor's degree an accredited college or university in the area of behavioral or social sciences, social work, guidance counseling, psychology childhood education, special education or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in child welfare, preferably in licensing foster or adoptive families.
• SAFE Home Study experience and certification *REQUIRED*.
• IMPACT Trained *REQUIRED*.
• Excellent interviewing, perceptual, diagnostic and family assessment skills.
• Displays a strong discernment and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrate professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Maintain a reliable automobile with adequate insurance coverage.
• Ability to work independently with high initiative.
• Basic computer and documentation skills.

Strongly preferred Qualifications:

• SAFE Supervisor trained
