Job Summary

The Corporate Controller will report directly to the Senior Director, Finance and will lead the global accounting team responsible for providing optimal control environment and reporting of financial information to internal and external entities. Candidate will lead a team of associates located in over 10+ countries and will also have oversight of accounting functions outsourced to 3rd parties.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Coordinate and direct the accounting and reporting activities for Parent and its worldwide subsidiaries (wholly owned and JVs)
• Direct preparation of Consolidated financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, and reports required by regulatory agencies
• Build financial models to forecast future performance and impact of planned acquisitions or entering new lines of business
• Plan and oversee the development of internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as cash and credit management, accounting and inventory control, and financial reporting
• Ensure proper control environments are in place for domestic and international structures
• Ensure appropriate tracking and processing of inventory across all global entities (owned operations, joint venture operations, and franchise operations)
• Oversight of Latin American and Asian financial teams
• Advise senior management, subordinates, and Private Equity owners on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions
• Lead compliance efforts for Private Equity and debt covenant reporting
• Ownership of relationship with independent auditor and external reporting function
• Lead further optimization/consolidation/centralization of accounting organization through IT and other strategic initiatives

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications Tech Skills

• Retail Accounting leadership experience preferred
• CPA required; public auditing experience required
• Expert level knowledge of technical accounting principles, practices, and the analysis and reporting of financial data and ability to research and draft position papers regarding new accounting standards
• Hard working, analytical, and highly driven
• Strong communication skills, assertive, focused on execution and results driven
• Ability to thrive in a turnaround environment
• Proficiency in financial systems with the ability to redesign processes and institute continuous improvement efforts
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Controller
• Must have 3+ years of experience in Consolidation of Financial Statements
• Must be Bilingual (English and Spanish)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
