Position Overview

MDB is seeking a full-time, experienced Copy Editor. Work will be performed in a collaborative, fast-paced work environment and can be done from a remote location anywhere within the U.S. The successful candidate will join a team of strategic communications professionals who work collaboratively to draft, copy edit, and work with internal and external stakeholders to finalize communications products such as reports, articles, fact sheets, web content, presentations, proposals, and other documents. The successful candidate must have a meticulous eye for detail, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to organize their own work/time to support multiple tasks for clients under deadlines. As much of MDB’s work relates to public health, a background or interest in public health is helpful.

Responsibilities may include:

• Create, format, proofread, and edit documents for target audience.
• Oversee document production.
• Create document templates.
• Create an internal style guide.
• Work with MDB staff, clients, and stakeholders to achieve a high level of readability, clarity, and consistency, and technical accuracy for all products.
• Apply client-specific formatting and style standards.
• Work with a team to respond to tight-turnaround proposals.
• Interact with clients to ensure project goals are achieved.
• Oversee projects and tasks as needed.
• Anticipate, recognize, and resolve issues in a professional, timely fashion.
