POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for calculating the costs of new Machined and Fabricated parts made from Tungsten & Molybdenum materials manufactured by Elmet Technologies.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Obtain material pricing and organize all the labor & overhead necessary to create a product cost and submit to the sales department.
• Use detailed spreadsheets and company approved formulas to calculate the projected cost of proposed projects.
• Review blueprints and customer specifications to accurately determine what materials are needed.
• Solicit and review subcontractor proposals.
• Determine the tooling & fixturing needed to produce the parts per customer drawings.
• Work with various involved parties, such as Engineering, sales & new product development.
• Participate in conversations with customers and field sales to thoroughly understand customer requirements for requested quotations.
• Work with Purchasing to obtain updated quotations for third party services and materials.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production to validate cost estimates for both new items and for confirming original estimates for repeat orders.
• Maintain costs in Elmet’s ERP system by entering new part numbers and associated bills of material and routings.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• 4-year technical degree or equivalent costing experience in a machine shop environment.
• Must be able to read technical drawings.
• Must have mid-level math skills including basic Algebra.
• Comfort with spread sheets and intermediate Excel.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as Global Shop is a plus
• Ability to create and deliver presentations to groups including those at higher levels.
