The Part-time Custodian/ Maintenance Worker primary responsibility is to perform a variety of custodial and maintenance duties, ensuring a clean, safe environment of the interior and exterior building grounds of Knox Church. Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the incumbent's primary focus will be cleanliness of the church building, assisting full-time staff with cleaning other internal and external areas and complete minor repairs. To include complete deep cleaning and daily maintenance of cleaning, sanitation, dusting, of preschool, church, office, restroom, and common areas, landscaping, inside painting, waxing of floors, and vacuuming carpet on a maintenance scheduled basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily servicing, sanitizing and upkeep throughout church building areas to include cleaning/sanitizing counter surfaces, cabinets, and floors, dusting, with proper use of over the counter and industrial strength cleaning chemicals.
• Safely mix cleaning chemicals in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications and regulations of each cleaning product.
• Safely store cleaning chemicals or dispose of hazardous materials.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, to prevent damage to oneself, others and/or building equipment.
• Assist with monitoring building security, conducting perimeter patrols, locking doors and checking electrical appliances use, ensuring that hazards are not created.
• Complete deep cleaning on a scheduled basis.
• Dusting,sanitizing, cleaning, and supplying all restrooms to include cleaning stalls, toilets, urinals, sinks, trash bins, soap dispensers etc.
• Clean interior windows and mirrors, as scheduled.
• Polish furniture, restroom fixtures etc. as scheduled.
• Clear and dispose of trash and debris inside and outside the building to include parking lots, walkways/sidewalks.
• Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, assist full-time staff with completing daily job tasks, as needed.
• Under supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor complete minor repairs as needed, including replacing/adjusting doors/handles, screws, replacing light bulbs etc.
• Manually or use equipment tools to move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
• Set-up and take down required/requested equipment/furniture and ensure cleanliness of selected areas prior to scheduled events.
• Perform other duties as assigned under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
