Eldon C. Stutsman, Inc. is hiring motivated individuals who can apply dry fertilizer in the fall and liquid crop protection products in the spring and assist in our agronomy and grain operations in the off season in our Hills, Iowa and Wellman, Iowa facilities.

The applicator is responsible for delivery and application of liquid and dry fertilizer, NH3, ag lime and crop protection products. In addition, this position performs maintenance and makes repairs and/or adjustments to keep fertilizer application equipment in operating order.

Our applicators typically work a 12-hour shift for several months in the spring and fall planting and harvesting season Monday thru Friday. Saturdays we try to end at noon and Sunday is worked pending weather. Overtime is applicable after 40 hours in a week.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares proper truck reports and records, including truck maintenance records as required.
• Maintain application/spray records.
• Assists with inventory control through adhering to established procedure and reports.
• Understand the capabilities and limitations of equipment (floaters, rogators, tool bars, etc.)
• Provide prompt, professional, and courteous customer service.
• Must be mechanically inclined.
• Assist in all aspects of grain, agronomy, and feed operations as needed.
• Attends scheduled training as requested.
• Maintain clean, safe working environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED and demonstrated experience in agricultural education or combination of education and work experience.
• Experience in operating large equipment is required.
• Must have or be able to obtain a commercial pesticide applicators license with 1A, 1B, and 1C endorsements.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain.
• Must have all application licenses as required by State and Federal Agencies.
• Class A CDL preferred with HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements (or ability to obtain). DOT age requirement is 21 for interstate (all states) preferred. DOT age requirement is 18 for intrastate (Iowa).
• Maintain a satisfactory driving record.
• Successfully complete preemployment background investigations and pre-employment physical examination, which assesses the driver's ability to walk, bend, stoop, climb, reach, push, pull, and lift 80 lbs. from floor to waist level.
