Job Title: Customer Service Representative
Location: Troy, MI 48084
Duration: 06 Months Contract (Potential Temp to Perm)
Payrate: $18/hr. - $20/hr. (Depending on experience)
Shift: 1st Shift (8 AM – 5 PM)
Job Description:
Provide exceptional customer service and effectively support customers by providing and processing information in response to questions, concerns and requests about products and services. Utilize technical expertise, vendors and internal resources to provide answers to customer questions
Responsibilities:
- Work in a safe manner, complying with all company safety requirements.
- Treat customers with highest level of customer service ensuring they take precedence over other tasks and responsibilities
- Ensure SOPs, Work Instructions, policies and processes are followed
- Accurately enter customer orders in business system in a timely manner
- Understand the sales order, inventory, and purchasing processes within the company’s business system.
- Follow up and report on open order report weekly, ensuring customer contact is made proactively on orders past delivery date.
- Discuss issues with supervisor proactively and identify solutions
- Effectively communicates with field sales team, peers and others, both internal and external
- Maintains a positive 'can do' attitude when working with customers, peers, and supervisor
- Provide suggestions for cost savings, process improvement and enhanced customer service
- Demonstrate product knowledge proficiency by utilizing all resources available to stay current.
- Attend training as required; show initiative in taking training not assigned
Education and Experience:
- 3 years customer service experience, preferably in an industrial or service-oriented setting
- High school diploma / GED
- College degree preferred
Skills and Knowledge:
- Effective team player
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good attention to detail
- Solid follow-up skills
- Organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated sense of urgency with the ability to meet appropriate deadlines
- Results oriented.
- Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to quickly grasp technical information.
