The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s most effective animal advocacy organization, is seeking a Data Analyst II for the Technology and Information Solutions department. In this position you will analyze and validate data results for accuracy. Develops and maintains reports pertaining to various departments and business areas. Evaluates specifications and develops SQL scripts for mailings. Actively seeks ways to improve the overall processes for data requests and report distribution.
You will be responsible for:
- Verifying requirements, processes data and creating reports and customized data lists for ad-hoc requests from staff;
- Developing complex SQL scripts to produce marketing reports and data lists according to specifications;
- Interacting with external vendors validating counts reports, providing data approvals, requesting modifications, and answering questions;
- Analyzing and validating data results and setup for accuracy. Providing resolutions when necessary;
- Reviewing and refining technical translations of data requests, ensuring the most efficient instructions are provided to obtain desired results;
- Collaborating with other departments on new projects that affect constituent data;
- Communicating new and ongoing processes and validations with internal staff and external partners;
- Serving as the subject matter expert on uploads, downloads and file distributions as required for system functionality and collaboration across the organization;
- Maintaining documentation, flow charts and user guides of technical and logistical information processes;
- Performs other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience required;
- A minimum of four (4) years of extensive SQL programming experience required;
- Strong working knowledge of TSQL, PL/SQL, SQL Server Management Studio and other Business Intelligence tools;
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
- Knowledge of Fundraising Systems;
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated and proactive;
- Ability to multitask, and be flexible with regard to workload and assignments;
- Ability to exercise sound judgment;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Attention to detail and commitment to excellence demonstrated by the delivery of quality and timely outcomes;
- Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member;
- Strong interest in animal protection issues preferred.
