Job Description
The Data Director is responsible for overall management of information in New Virginia Majority data systems, digital, and field programs. The Data Director is responsible for improving the integration, coordination and management of data across the organization, including the integration and tracking of data between our political field work, community organizing, digital, and donor programs. The Data Director also supports the organization by using data to inform the collective strategic planning process and preparing documents and reports.

Responsibilities:

• Improve use of existing applications and data integration. Example projects: advanced/custom gift / prospect management, fundraising reports, pipelines, and dashboards to facilitate the work of fundraising or targeting recommendations for grassroots organizing.

• Strengthen the use of data and technology throughout the organization through strong user engagement, accurate data, analytics, and reporting

• Developing training and support systems for the organization to take a data-drive approach to outreach, voter contact, and advocacy programs

• Improve and ensure the security and integrity of the organization’s data assets across the organization

• Manage all administrative functions including user maintenance, workflows, reports, and dashboards.

• Conducting timely and relevant analysis of data to assist programs in taking a data-driven approach to their issue and advocacy work.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
The candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Committed to New Virginia Majority’s mission;

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in providing data support in electoral work, organizing or advocacy work

• Experience with technology tools used for organizing, fundraising data, and electoral data. (e,g, Nationbuilder, VAN,etc.)

• Familiarity with online electoral/advocacy tools and constituent relationship management tools.

• Ability to work well under pressure, while maintaining a high level of detail orientation and meeting deadlines.

• Background in 501c3 and 501c4 organizational structures or work or with organizations with multiple interrelated corporated structures.

• Knowledge of software for mapping, reporting, and data management (Access, SQL, etc.) is a plus.

Reports To: Co-Executive Director Tram Nguyen
Compensation: Compensation is $85,000-95,000, commensurate with experience.
