Job description
Purpose: This position will support and maintain all demographic information for each territory and fields of service: Dental, Podiatry, Audiology and Optometry.
Essential Job Functions:
· Update and maintain current data entry of patient demographics including: responsible party/insurance/facility/referring provider and any other information pertaining to patient billing and general information.
· Data management and processing referrals in assigned territory for all ancillary specialties.
· Responsible for obtaining provider’s orders and scanning medical documents into patients charts accurately and in a timely fashion.
· Completion of order forms with patient information within 72 hours of new facility notification.
· Works under time restraint and follows a multiple step process from start to finish.
· Stays organized and keeps up with the pace of the territory to ensure all material is loaded for facility visits and billing purposes.
· Excellent customer service and communication skills.
· Actively supports and complies with all components of the compliance program, including, but not limited to, completion of training and reporting of suspected violations of law and Company policy.
· Maintains confidentiality of all information; abides with HIPAA and PHI guidelines at all times.
· Reacts positively to change and performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Must have High School Diploma or GED.
· Previous EMR experience preferred.
· Some medical experience preferred.
· Speed and accuracy for data entry with extensive time periods sitting at a desk, keying in data.
· Proficient knowledge and skills working with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Outlook.
· Strong data entry skills a must.
· Must be detail-oriented.
· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have a strong sense of urgency.
· Must have positive attitude and be flexible to change.
