Daycare Assistant and Lunch Supervision
RESPONSIBILITIES: Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the School as well as the decisions made by the Administrators. Serves as an example of professionalism in a Catholic context.
Maintains complete confidentiality about all school-related topics. Adheres to all rules and regulations as provided in the employee handbook and parent/student handbook. Attends faculty and administrative meetings as necessary. Ensures the health, safety, and welfare of all students.
The daycare assistant will be in charge of the children that have been checked into the facility.
All grades will be under the supervision of the lunch supervisor during the lunch break.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Punctuality: shows up for work on time.
- Oversee the lunch duty every day.
- A lunch supervisor must keep an eye on the students while they eat and play during lunch.
- Inform the teacher and the supervisor of any accident or incident.
- Lead by example in accordance with daycare goals and lunchtime supervision. Be enthusiastic; provide a good example of professionalism, good manners, and ethical conduct.
- Assistants are also expected to plan and carry out daycare activities.
- Participate with your students in every activity.
- By using suitable techniques, such as visual structure and reinforcement, you may encourage and make it easier for the student to take part in all tasks.
- Maintain the preschool and daycare space, including the corridor, and change the artwork and other projects that are shown on the bulletin boards.
- The task of cleanup is one that assistants are required to complete at the end of the day or activity.
- All Assistants will alternate and share duties.
Supervising student sign-in and out as necessary.
- Attend to sick students in the absence of a nurse or daycare director.
- Maintain a nurse station for preschools and daycares.
- Assemble and prepare the necessary tools and materials in advance of any planned operations.
- Record any occurrences or accidents involving childcare assistants, parents, or children.

Environment: The majority of the work is done in a typical daycare or classroom.
Physical: The primary duties include lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling light to moderate weights, standing or sitting for extended periods of time, occasionally bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting, operating office equipment requiring repetitive hand movements and fine coordination, including using a computer keyboard, and verbally communicating to exchange information.
Visual range: See clearly with or without correction.
Hearing: With or without correction, hear within the typical auditory range.
Ten-month, full- or part-time, hourly non-exempt position, afternoon shifts
