Job description
Responsible for research, instructional, and departmental computing needs for Geography Department within the Social Sciences Center for Education, Research, and Technology (SSCERT). Includes support of highly scalable Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing research and classes including nearline open-source high-capacity network attached storage (NAS), data backup and archival, and field equipment support including GPS-enabled equipment. Includes management and support of cloud resources, research computing labs, smart classrooms, and Geography faculty/staff/graduate student specific support of both general computing and Geography-specific applications, as well as publication-grade research and photographyPercentage of Time:

Required/Preferred
Experience using, installing, and troubleshooting Windows 10 and 11, Mac OS including advanced compatibility troubleshooting.
Required
Experience using, installing, and troubleshooting Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Required
Experience administering cloud-based solutions including ESRI ArcGIS Pro, Microsoft Office 365
Required
Experience dealing with computer hardware and software vendors including system specification and negotiation
Required
Experience with desktop and server data backup and recovery
Required
Experience with troubleshooting and repair of computers, projectors, and printers for a large user base and diverse hardware set.

Experience designing web pages in Wordpress, including WCAG 2.1 best practices.
