Essential Functions

Job Summary

This position serves as the Deputy AD for External Affairs and, working at the direction of the Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics, oversees the day-to-day operations of the Athletics Department. This position is also responsible for overall leadership, oversight, management, and strategic planning for external units, including broadcast, communications, creative services, marketing, and ticket operations & sales.

Core Responsibilities


Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Eight years of previous external operations experience in college and/or professional sports, or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct and manage the work of others and work effectively with a diverse range of coaches, staff and coaches
• Knowledge of athletics external operations, strategic planning, and sport administration
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations
• Strong planning and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree
• Proven experience and success in engaging multiple constituents, resulting in innovative and creative opportunities
• Proactive thinking and interest in developing and executing new ideas as necessary

Working Conditions

• Primarily on-campus; May vary dependent upon department needs

This position will be primarily located:

On Campus: Primary work location will be on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
