Insider is hiring a Deputy Editor for Special Projects to help this talented team build on its success and grow.

The deputy editor will oversee a busy team of editors creating and launching multichannel editorial series across a broad range of topics across the Business, Service, and Life divisions.

Insider's special projects team is responsible for creating ambitious and award-winning series such as 100 People Transforming Business, The Well-Designed Life, Women of Means, Financing a Sustainable Future, and Master your Money.

The deputy editor will be expected to turn ideas into creative editorial packages through collaboration with design, social, events, video, and other teams. This person will be comfortable sharing Insider's special editorial plans and vision across the company, with commercial functions such as marketing and sales.

The successful candidate will be comfortable with venturing into new topics and storytelling formats. This editor will also demonstrate excellent judgment, and be able to navigate complex projects with multiple, invested stakeholders, calmly and creatively.

We're looking for someone with a demonstrated track record of successfully managing teams and who will enjoy acting as a leader, manager, and motivator in a fast-paced environment where innovation and experimentation are encouraged.

The ideal candidate has:

• An excellent editorial background and proven experience working at a leadership level across teams and geographies at a digital publication.
• An ability to envision and bring to life large-scale projects, on time and on budget.
• Comfort driving consensus, and making tough calls and decisions. This is a position with many strong people in the mix, and decisive leadership is critical.
• Familiarity working with UX developers, designers, and photographers to create exceptional reader experiences.
• A personal network of talented freelancers who can be tapped to support large-scale projects.
• A spirit of collaboration, accustomed to communicating and working across teams within editorial, as well as marketing, sales, and other corporate functions.
• Enthusiasm for bringing people together around complex projects.
• Experience working in multiple content formats including events, video, audio, and social.
• Superior organizational and communication skills, with impeccable attention to detail.
• An appreciation for Insider and what we do.

The salary range for this position is $110,000-$160,000. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
