Saint-Gobain in Garden Grove, CA is looking for a Design/Application Engineer I.

Design/Application Engineer I will be a strong liaison between the Application Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Marketing and the Sales team, and will become proficient in understanding customer unmet needs and designing solutions where current product designs do not meet customer and application requirements.

• Responsible for developing new product (Valve, Manifold, Pumps, Fittings, etc.) through NPI (New Product Introduction) process
• Enhancing existing product/product extension to sustain value proposition for our High Purity Systems business that serve primarily into the semiconductor industry
• Support Testing and Evidence effort to ensure data has been developed and/or evolve for our products partnering with Marketing
• Assist AE engineers to establish Technical documents such as Product Spec & Technical Data Sheet(TDS), etc.
• Work with computer aided Design and Drafting CAD systems creating, modifying, and releasing drawings through NPI process
• Assist engineering staff in the design and development of new products
• Interface with them effectively to ensure the form, fit and function of designs and validation while also ensuring cost effectiveness and manufacturability of designs
• Collaborate with the cross-functional staff to release new P/Ns and drawings into production
• Resolve complex customer issues and assist in technical aspects of business development as well as sustaining
• Review and interpret data to make recommendations on immediate actions, long term corrective actions, follow-up experiments, etc.
• Capture new ideas for possible patent submission and protect opportunities for SG IP

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Manufacturing required
• 1-3 years' experience in Design Engineering in a Manufacturing Environment
• Proficiency in 3D CAD or design software

Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $66,900 to $88,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 9% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $72,900 to $95,900. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
