Managing Design Engineer (Full-Time)

We are searching for a project manager with experience in CAD design, design engineering, design for manufacturing, and project management. The future team member will be responsible for managing design schedules, reviewing team designs, and engineering design directly. The Managing Design Engineer's responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Planning design schedules and workloads
Evaluating team member and schedule performance
Holding periodic design reviews as needed
Working with the production team to transfer designs into fabrication
Working with the production team to integrate production feedback
Assisting the design team to achieve AirPhoton's schedule, scientific, and quality goals
Directly performing design and engineering tasks
Qualifications
Education & Work Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred in related field - e.g. project management or mechanical engineering
2+ years experience in a role managing engineering design and analysis for hardware projects
Familiar with small business/start-up environments
Experience working with small teams to delivery large impacts
Skills
Superior interpersonal facilitation and communication skills
Self-starter and flexible mindset to manage dynamic projects with multiple priorities
Strong analytical skills
Strong technical writing and documentation skills
Experience in 3D CAD software (eg. Autodesk Inventor Professional)
Experience designing CAD models, drafting drawings, and reviewing tolerances
Experience with project management (eg. ProjectLibre, etc)
Experience with Microsoft Office and Office 365 products
Bonus SKills
General understanding of space flight and satellite systems
Extensive design experience (3d CAD, drawings, tolerances, GD&T)
Experience assembling prior designs
Experience fabricating prior designs
Legally allowed to work in the United State of America on export controlled projects

Mechanical Design Engineer (Full-Time and Part-Time)

The future team member will be responsible for conceptual designs, design iterations, modeling, drafting, design analysis, and more. The Mechanical Design Engineer's responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following lists.
Description:
Directly performing design and engineering tasks
Documenting design decisions, engineering calculations and simulations
Updating Bill of Materials and Work Instructions
Participating in periodic design reviews
Working with the production team to move designs into production and to review feedback
Achieving AirPhoton's scientific, quality, and design goals
Qualifications:
Education & Work Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred in mechanical engineering or related field
4+ years experience in 3D design and drafting
1 to 2 major projects that utilized design analysis and/or simulations
Experience working with small teams to delivery large impacts
Skills:

Strong technical writing and documentation skills

The Mechanical Design Engineer will preferably work in-person at AirPhoton's Baltimore, Maryland facility. Remote opportunities will be handled case by case.

AirPhotons offers competitive compensation based on skills and experience.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
