Design Engineer
Job Description:
Ballymore Company is seeking an individual with an established background in mechanical and electro-mechanical technologies to expand our product development and innovation capabilities. The primary responsibilities include developing new products, work with the engineering, safety, and sales teams to develop specification for new products based on customer input, supporting manufacturing, and working with overseas suppliers.
Responsibilities:
The Design Engineer is responsible for the company’s product development activities, advising the leadership team on technological matters, and supporting the manufacturing operations with technical expertise. Working with marketing and the company President, the engineering team converts customer requirements into product specifications and develops products to fulfill those needs in a manner consistent with the company goals. Innovative, market-differentiating solutions are typically the priority and products might range from purely mechanical to hydro-mechanical to electro-mechanical. Responsibilities include developing designs, component selection, prototyping, testing, and documentation including assemblies, bills of material, parts list and detail drawings as required.

Experience Requirements:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- 7 to 10 years of experience in product design
- Working knowledge in welding, metal forming and machining processes
- Experience in:
- Structural analysis including finite element analysis
- Simple hydraulic systems such as mobile power units, cylinders, and valves
- Motion control such as motors, motor controllers, PLC’s, sensors etc.
- Track record of creative and innovation design solutions
- Expert level CAD skills
- Able to communicate effectively
Preferred Requirements:
- Professional Engineering License (Machine design)
- Cross disciplinary education in computer, electronics, electrical or controls fields
- Experience with OSHA, ANSI, ASME and AWS standards
- Ability to innovate existing products and develop new products demonstrated by being issued patents
