DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVES: To provide fundraising support to the Director of Development in the areas of event creation and planning, donor management and communication, and data management.

POSITION DIMENSIONS, NATURE, AND SCOPE: Responsible for various aspects of Development specifically creating, implementing, and managing special events.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Plans and executes fundraising events in conjunction with the Director of Development.
  • Manages the LSSM donor database accurately updating donor profiles and related database entries.
  • Prepares and edits quarterly email newsletter.
  • Manages Development Department correspondence files, including donor communications and other matters related to fundraising.
  • Perform document management of all grant files, invoicing, etc.
  • Represents LSSM at public events and meetings with donors as requested by the Director of Development.
  • Helps with researching foundation and government grants.
  • Creates direct mail solicitations.
  • Provides support in grant compliance.
  • Assists Director of Development with direct in-person solicitations.
  • Assists with marketing efforts of the organization, which includes social media, website, community education and outreach.
  • Other duties that may be assigned by the Director of Development.

QUALIFICATIONS At least five years’ experience as a nonprofit event planner. Self-starter, ability to handle numerous priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment, able to interact with all levels of management, including senior management and field office staff. Superior organizational skills, especially as demonstrated by the ability to work independently and quickly, plan workflow, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines. Experience working with vendors and external service contractors. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse employee and donor populations. Good writing skills, strong communication skills and ability to handle difficult people and promote good public relations, ability to maintain confidentiality, good computer, oral, and written communication skills are a must. Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $86,000.00 per year
