Since 1985 Brandywine Counseling & Community Services, Inc. (BCCS) has been a trusted provider of outstanding substance abuse and behavioral health treatment. BCCS is a community organization that prides itself on helping members of our community recover with dignity. We enhance the quality of life by creatively providing Education, Advocacy, Prevention, Early Intervention and Treatment Services. We promote hope and empowerment to persons and families touched by mental illness, substance abuse, HIV and multiple occurring diagnoses, and their related challenges.

As a DFS Liaison with BCCS, you will:

• Conduct Addiction Severity Index (ASI) assessment if approved as an assessor.
• Evaluate assigned clients and formulate treatment plan goals in consultation with the Clinical Supervisor.
• Treats clients using individual, group and/or family counseling/education as indicated on the treatment plan.
• Confer with the Clinical Supervisor daily for casing.
• Maintain appropriate client electronic health records and make sure the chart is in accordance with the Joint Commission and meets Delaware licensure standards and CSAT criteria.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other office related duties.
• To provide substance abuse consultations to the Divisions of Family Services (DFS) staff and substance abuse evaluations to DFS clients.
• Link DFS clients with appropriate substance abuse treatment.
• Provide intervention when needed.
• Help DFS clients plan for planned discharges from substance abuse treatment agencies.
• Help DFS case workers engage resistant clients.

Qualifications for this position are:

• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or related field OR equivalent guidelines
• 1 year experience in the Drug and Alcohol Field
• Within 2 years, must have obtained certification as CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor).

Schedule: Monday- Friday 8am to 4pm. Possible late night to meet need of clients. This position is under a contract that ends September 2023.

From $20/hr commensurate with experience
