Job Description


The Director, Client Finance sits in the Business Management team and is responsible for the execution and development of best practices of financial processes across all books of business. The Director, Client Finance is the key liaison between Business Management and Finance for internal reporting, WIP review, aging, audits, invoice issues/solutions, intercompany best practice, etc. They assist the Head of Business Management with unified collection of data from Pod Partners, such as but not limited to: revenue projections, unbilled reporting, aging follow-up, etc. This role may be assigned client work, as well, so the understanding of the day-to-day processes are clear.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Data Management & Oversight:

o Arbiter of Labor Data irregularities, works with Finance to mitigate at the root level

o Responsible for understanding and organizing labor data from other agencies, educating teams on where this information lives and what it should be used for

o Responsible for managing Business Management Master Calendar of financial deliverables, follow-ups and education on process

o Responsible for managing and assigning team Workcodes, understanding how they affect HR, the agency, pacing, etc

o Responsible for Mini-Master template, can review and troubleshoot Mini-Mastersheet with junior-level staff

o Responsible for assisting with PPM Tool administration, including: understanding interdependencies of data, project information, rate cards, titles, allocations, and pacing metrics

o Understands working media billing process and nomenclature

o Assists with aggregating client data to benchmark across agency

o Dynamically and nimbly aggregates labor & financial data utilizing tools such as Excel, Excel Pivots, Queries, Smartsheet, etc

o Rate Card maintenance & creation, as needed

Reporting

o Liaise with Pod Partners to ensure revenue reporting is accurate and timely

o Aware of all aspects of revenue lines and pricing models

o Assist with preparing templates and data for Profit & Loss tabulation

o Liaise with Business Management team regarding: WIP, Aging, Unbilled and Audit reports

Other duties:

o Can interpret terms in client MSAs

o Ad hoc billing/invoicing for clients without Pods

o PHM PO process

o Intercompany scoping & billing

o Marcel Gig financial verification & job code tracking

o Developing process documentation and training for financial aspects of Business Management role

o Expert at creating, relaying and abiding Client and Agency best practices in regard to invoicing and financial tracking


Qualifications

  • Advanced organization, project management, time management skills and process development & integration
  • Advanced ability to identify potential risks, to proactively problem solve and to create efficiencies
  • Approaches client financials from a holistic perspective
  • Advanced understanding of revenue forecasting at the client level
  • Intermediate knowledge of all media capabilities, channels and how they connect (Planning, Strategy, Investment Marketplace, Analytics, etc)
  • Advanced problem solver, for increasingly complex issues. Can make sound business decisions, independently
  • Advanced to expert Excel skills
  • Intermediate skills in Smartsheet
