Position: Director, Digital Transformation
Location: Remote within United States
The Director of Digital Transformation will start off as an individual contributor position, rolling up to the Information Technology (IT) organization at Zscaler. In addition to its core responsibilities of providing business systems design, development, testing, deployment, and support to our worldwide business owners / stakeholders, the IT organization at Zscaler is also responsible for partnering with the cross-functional business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities for scaling the business, in alignment with the company’s overall business growth strategy. We are seeking an experienced Director to drive the transformation journey for such cross-functional initiatives by acting as an embedded partner/coach to accomplish the business goals.
This position will focus on partnering with the business stakeholders using structured consultative methods and best practice frameworks, to drive business planning, problem definition, meaningful process improvements and efficiencies, expanding system capabilities, developing creative solutions for existing business challenges, team dynamics & cross-functional collaboration, user-centered design & innovation, and organizational learning. This role will span across all the key business process domains, including, but not limited to: Go-to-market, Customer success, Quote-to-order, Order-to-cash, Record-to-report, Customer support, Procure-to-pay, Hire-to-retire, etc., involving top enterprise systems and tools, e.g. Salesforce (Sales Cloud, CPQ, Service Cloud, Communities), NetSuite, Coupa, SuccessFactors, Workday, etc.
You must be able to operate in an ambiguous environment where you help the business to identify the “problem”, followed by defining the “scope and requirements” and “solution design” to accomplish the “desired outcome”, while ensuring that we have clarity, focus and measurable results.
You are skillful at building relationships and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels (C-staff to individual contributors). At times, you may need to have constructive conversations that go against the status quo. You will act as a partner and/or coach to the business so that they fully adopt and apply the changes that were envisaged. Transformation requires an agile mindset focused on incremental value delivery, and ability to connect the dots between varying initiatives to create the bigger picture for stakeholders. You are a team player and will embrace and act as a role-model for not only the transformations you lead, but also the changes being driven by your colleagues.
Responsibilities/What You’ll Do:
- Work with the business stakeholders to identify and formalize areas of improvement/transformation opportunities.
- Understand current business processes, help define future processes and data flows as per industry best practices, and perform gap and impact analysis.
- Lead the Digital Transformation initiatives in partnership with business stakeholders and SMEs across all the business process domains mentioned above.
- Define the problem statement, scope/requirements, success criteria, and KPIs, aligning efforts and deliverables to key business outcomes and company goals.
- Identify testing scenarios and drive user acceptance testing of business systems.
- Drive/support change management, including the communication of roles and responsibilities and the creation and delivery of user training.
- Partner with the Business Stakeholder teams and Business Applications teams (onshore and offshore) to ensure alignment between their transformation roadmaps.
- Drive evaluation of enterprise software application/services vendors.
- Participate in special projects and other activities as needed, in a matrixed team structure.
Qualifications/Your Background:
Strong functional and technical knowledge in the Business Process and Architecture related to Marketing, Sales, Channels, Service, Finance, HR, and Product & Pricing Management.- BS/BA degree required; MBA strongly preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in Information Technology and/or management/technology consulting space, with a majority as a process leader.
- Strongly desired: Big-4 consulting experience, Six-Sigma experience, Agile experience.
- Significant experience in building and driving strategy for business / digital transformation, using IT systems for process automation and scale.
- Deep knowledge of business process best practices in the high-tech / SaaS software industry.
- Strong familiarity with best-in-class business applications like: Salesforce (Sales Cloud, CPQ, Service Cloud, Communities), NetSuite, Coupa, SuccessFactors, Workday, etc.
- Strong executive presence, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence senior leaders and process owners.
- Experience in a high growth, highly scaled SaaS environment.
- Strong organizational and business analysis skills.
- Effective program management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple programs simultaneously.
