Background

George Kaiser Family Foundation (GKFF), is a charitable organization dedicated to providing an equal opportunity for young children in Tulsa, Oklahoma through investments in early childhood education, community health, social services and civic enhancement.

Position Purpose

The Director of Continuous Improvement (DCI), a new role for the organization, will work with the COO and other members of the organization to identify areas for organizational improvement, develop improvement plans, and lead execution of plans. Scope of work includes the foundation as well as the programs that the foundation supports. The DCI will be an integral part of GKFF’s leadership team.

Essential Duties

• Assess GKFF program performance and collaborate with Executive Directors to establish plans to improve effectiveness
• Identify GKFF and partner organizational and capabilities gaps, build and execute plans to address gaps
• Build and syndicate tools for GKFF to improve execution: program/project management, process mapping, customer experience mapping, etc.
• Identify opportunities for heightened collaboration within and outside of GKFF network, build and execute plan to address opportunities
• On an ad hoc basis, “jump in” to GKFF programs on key issues, rapidly assess and diagnose issues and work with management teams to develop plans to address
• Assist in program reviews and other similar processes; manage portfolio of action items stemming from these processes to ensure accountability
• Champion and promote an engaged and positive organizational culture

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree
• Five to ten years prior experience working in a complex organization requiring cross-functional engagement, preferably in the non-profit sector
• Demonstrated ability to assess processes, diagnose issues, and recommend/implement improvement plans
• A track record of implementing new initiatives with successful outcomes
• Clear and demonstrated communication and coaching skills
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, evaluate difficult situations and effectively drive multiple teams on independent tracks simultaneously

Preferred

• Master’s Degree
• PMP or similar designation
• Knowledge of Tulsa’s nonprofit and business communities

Hours and Location

• Job location is at GKFF office in Tulsa
• Current expectation, subject to change, is that the successful candidate will be on-site 3 days and work remotely 2 days per week
