    PRIMARY PURPOSE:
    To coordinate construction activities between the school district and the design professionals, consultants, agents, vendors, contractors, and District staff in the implementation of the District’s Capital Improvement Plan prior and during the construction phases.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Education/Certification:
    Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited college in construction management, engineering, architecture or related field.
    Five Years’ experience
    Architectural or Engineer License Preferred
    Possess strong background in commercial and/or school construction
    Available to work flexible schedules, including holidays, evenings and weekends
    Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
    Special Knowledge/Skills:
    Computer skills to include word processing spreadsheets and AutoCAD
    Strong communication skills
    Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, plans and specifications, procedures and applicable federal, state and local building and zoning codes
    Ability to work with other people to resolve problems
    Detailed organizational skills

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Monitor the construction process during critical phases of construction, such as foundation concrete pours, building inspection walk through, installation of equipment and or materials, material deliveries, plumbing, electrical and HVAC final installations.
    • Oversee all construction contracts with all vendors to ensure compliance with all terms and conditions of the contract.
    • Organize a complete system of construction records.
    • Assist in determining the method of procedures concerning shop drawings, samples, substitutions, and special inspections.
    • Communicate with project architect, notifying him/her on all phases of work and meetings that may require the Facilities Supervisor presence at the site.
    • Conduct on-site inspections of work in progress as a basis to determine compliance with the contract documents.
    • Report all observed deficiencies to architect and to school administrators.
    • Monitor the contract documents with the district’s best interest in mind.
    • Make purchases of materials and maintain adequate records of all purchases.
    • Responsible for keeping the School District in compliance with Local, State, and Federal regulations.
    • Maintain and distribute Material Safety Data Sheets to maintenance personnel.
    • Evaluates personnel as required by the School District.
    • Design In-house construction projects.
    Prepare District’s Facilities budget.
    • Perform all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
