Position: Director of Home Visiting Programs

Program Responsibilities: Early Head Start-Home Visiting, Prevention Initiative-Home Visiting, Healthy Families Illinois, MIECHV and Doula services

Reports to: President and CEO

Status: Full time/Exempt

Candidate Expectations: The optimal candidate must be mission driven and relentlessly committed to ensuring that Henry Booth House achieves “best in class” programmatic recognition in closing the opportunity and achievement gaps for the children and families we serve. The optimal candidate will have a proven track record in delivering high quality performance outcomes that ultimately ensure children are meeting their developmental milestones leading to preschool readiness for at risk, vulnerable children, and families across Chicago communities. The chosen candidate must demonstrate a record of progressive management responsibilities and proficiency in leading, coaching, empowering, managing, and retaining program management teams.

Essential Job Duties

· Serve as primary representative and interface with funders of State and Federal home visiting programs for Henry Booth House. Responsible for managing positive, productive relationships with our funders, peers, HBH Board of Directors and other external stakeholders as applicable. Represents HBH at all federal, state, local meetings, conferences, events, advisory boards, Policy Council, and Health Services Advisory Committee.

· Responsible and accountable for meeting and exceeding all funder contractual requirements, program goals and performance outcomes. Lead all federal reviews, audits, and program credentialing.

· Responsible for developing and implementing all annual program budgets and budget analysis to ensure optimal expenditure utilization.

· Lead, manage, mentor, motivate and supervise a 2-member management team in developing and implementing all home visiting program delivery, management, compliance, ongoing monitoring, and quality systems. Responsible for executing supervisory and reflective supervision. Ultimately accountable for all home visiting staff performance outcomes.

· Assess, develop, and implement home visiting staff training, cross training, professional development, retention strategies and aspirational career pathway development.

· Develop strategic staff recruitment strategies and lead all home visiting staff recruitment

· Serves as an active member of the Birth to Five Programs senior leadership team and work collaboratively with other team members to foster a dynamic mission driven work culture focused on the pursuit of operational excellence in serving children and families.

· Responsible for crafting strategic and annual programmatic goals and corresponding benchmarks to ensure high quality outcomes for children, families, and staff. Establish and implement key performance objectives, dashboard reporting, compliance monitoring, early warning corrective action, self-assessment, and continuous improvement systems.

· Assess, develop, revise, and implement all program policies and procedures to ensure compliance and operational excellence.

· Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of the position

Education and Skills Required:

· Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, or fields related to working with children and families.

· A minimum of 8 to 12 years leading, managing, and professionally developing early childhood programs.

· A well-developed proficiency in supervising and motivating staff, as well as providing support to staff in stressful work environments.

· A proven track record of high standards relative to professional conduct, reliability, attendance, and reputation.

· Knowledge of developmentally appropriate child development, maternal-infant health and dynamics of child abuse and neglect.

· A demonstrated competency in the development, monitoring, tracking, reporting, analysis, and data management.

· Execution and results-driven

· Strong interpersonal communication, exceptional oral and written communication, and polished presentation skills

· Strategic thinker, root cause problem solver and thought partner

· Knowledge of developmentally appropriate child development, maternal-infant health and dynamics of child abuse and neglect.

· Working proficiency in home visitation with a strong background in prevention services for the 0-3 age population and their families.

· Knowledge of various birth to three program models that include Early Head Start, Healthy Families Illinois, Prevention Initiative, DOULA and Maternal Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) programs.

· Working knowledge of Cornerstone, COPA, Visit Tracker data management systems preferred

· Ability to work independently

· Charismatic, compassionate, and culturally competent

· Excellent written and oral communication.

· Experience with reflective supervision practice preferred.

· Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.

· Must have ongoing, daily access to personally owned-insured vehicle and valid driver’s license
