• Institutional Giving (65%)
• Responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding institutional donors with an emphasis on six and seven figure gifts.
• Grows the portfolio to manage 40 – 60 institutional prospects and donors.
• Prepares prospect research and briefing memos to advise senior leadership for donor meetings.
• Collaborates with PDK Senior Leadership to write creative and competitive proposals.
• Works closely with finance to develop proposal budgets.
• Collaborates with program staff to ensure that grant obligations are on time and on budget.
• Strategic Philanthropy (25%)
• Develop and maintain in-depth working knowledge of PDK’s Division goals and priorities.
• Develops a three-year fundraising plan to grow PDK’s base of philanthropic support, including revenue targets and staffing needs.
• Creates and implements an annual fundraising plan to meet quarterly benchmarks and performance indicators.
• Develops campaigns to leverage matching gifts as needed.
• Provides regular reports to PDK Board of Directors on fundraising progress.
• Manages fundraising consultants for special projects.
• Individual Giving (10%)
• Collaborate with the Director of Membership on individual giving, including annual giving campaigns and heritage society recruitment.
• Advise on best practices for individual donor management.
• Assist the marketing and communications team with donor engagement collateral and media campaigns, as needed.

• Five years or more of experience leading philanthropic initiatives.
• Track record of success securing significant gifts from institutional donors.
• Compelling and inspiring communicator.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with people from a wide diversity of backgrounds.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Upholds AFP professional fundraising standards.

• Flexible and comfortable in a fast-paced environment with excellent follow-through.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team effort.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office required. Experience with SharePoint preferred.
• Ability to learn required online submission and reporting software.
• Must be innovative, detail oriented, self-motivated, and professional.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple different divisions with different, yet related, missions is required.
• Experience in database mining and CRM (Customer Records Management) preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
