The Team

The Recruiting team at Upstart enables the company’s continued success by hiring incredible talent. We develop recruiting strategies that drive Upstart’s growth in the most inclusive and efficient ways.

As the Director of Non-Technical Recruiting at Upstart, you will be responsible for hiring, developing, and managing our non-technical recruiting team and managing the end-to-end recruitment process . You will be reporting directly into the VP of Recruiting and partnering with senior leaders to translate business needs into recruiting strategies.

Position Location - This role is available in the following locations: Remote

Time Zone Requirements - This team operates on the East/West Coast time zones.

Travel Requirements - This team has regular on-site collaboration sessions. These occur 3 days per Month, primarily in the San Mateo office. If you need to travel to make these meetups, Upstart will cover all travel related expenses

How you’ll make an impact:
Build talent acquisition strategy, roadmap, and execution plan that ties to Upstart’s roadmap and business objectives for FTE and flex hiring
Partner with and building strong relationships with the executive team and finance to forecast hiring needs, and consult on recruiting strategies to mitigate or avoid any potential bottlenecks
Lead, mentor, and inspire recruiting team members to do their best work (and meet or exceed recruiting targets)
Own all aspects of the non-technical recruiting across multiple job profiles in G&A and Operations
Define how to identify, assess, and attain the best non-tech talent available across the country
Set OKRs, analyze the results, and iterate on the strategy
Partner with the recruiting team and hiring managers to drive diversity, equity, and inclusion at every stage of the hiring process
Drive accountability for an efficient, dynamic full-cycle recruiting process

What we’re looking for:
Minimum requirements:
10+ years of experience in talent acquisition
6+ years of experience in leading a non-technical recruiting team focused on results that thrive in a rapidly changing, and competitive environment; experience managing managers
Strong bias for action and ability to lead both tactically and strategically

Preferred qualifications:
Experience building a complex workforce comprised of FTE and variable contract talent in the Operations space (call centers, customer service, warehouse, etc)
Superior influence skills; can communicate effectively and confidently with all levels of the organization, both written and verbal
Results orientated, measurement bias using reporting to translate actions into measurable outcomes
Experience building process, org structure and high performance teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Passion for working and learning in a fast growing company

The minimum base pay for this position in Colorado is $156,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is provided in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay Act. It is specific to Colorado and may not be applicable to other locations
