The Director of Nursing assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for the safety, efficiency, and smooth operations of the Liberty Corner Surgery Center at Basking Ridge.

In collaboration with facility Administration, this position entails the following:

• Demonstrate clinical expertise in creating and maintaining a sterile field.
• Plan and provide equipment and supplies based on procedure and physician needs.
• Demonstrate clinical expertise in assisting physician as it relates to specific procedures and patient needs clinically.
• Administer medications/procedural sedation
• Promote cost containment while delivering quality patient care.
• Participate in on-call assignments and demonstrates flexibility to cover staffing as needed.
• Demonstrate flexibility to perform other functions within the Center, Procedure room and holding area to assist in smooth operation of the department.
• Analyze pertinent data, communicate findings and document information appropriately.
• Actively look at improving patient care and process improvement.
• Pursue own professional growth through continuing education and in-services
• Contribute to orientation/training of new staff.
• Maintain a safe working environment to include radiation safety/appropriate personal protection attire.
• Communicate effectively with patients, peers, managers, and subordinates.
• Infection Control Committee.
• Serves on the Infection Control, Quality Assurance Committee, Safety and on other committees as appropriate.
• Responsible for quarterly reports, meeting minutes, credentialing, contracts, service agreements, policy and procedures, and other reports as appropriate.

Position Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current licensure to practice in the State of New Jersey.
• Two or more years in a Nurse Management role including hiring and supervision of Nursing staff, writing and implementing performance improvement plan
• Nurse management experience in an ambulatory surgery center a definite plus.
• BLS, ACLS certified.
