At Alexion, the People and Culture Partner will play a key role in driving and delivering on our mission to transform the lives of people affected by rare and devastating diseases by delivering world class HR support for our employees. Our HR professionals are coordinated and closely aligned with the whole enterprise. We do all of it strategically, looking ahead to the new challenges we’ll face and improving the way the enterprise operates today.

Reporting into a team led by one of Alexion’s HR Enterprise Partners, the P&C Partner will deliver HR counsel and drive successful programs in the area of talent acquisition, employee relations, retention, and performance management.


You will be responsible for:

  • Providing guidance and advice to business teams, managers, and leaders on all people management matters
  • Delivering the global HR agenda, initiatives, and objectives year-over-year in support of the business
  • Partnering effectively with leaders, managers, and employees across the business and providing leadership and coaching to drive the successful implementation of our people and culture strategy in a consistent manner
  • Building relationships and collaborating with AstraZeneca’s Centers of Expertise (COE’s), Talent (Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development) and Total Rewards, to deploy strategies to impact capabilities in innovation and leadership
  • Proactively performing diagnostic interventions and problem resolution strategies to contribute HR point of view to business issues; anticipating and advocating for employees’ needs and aims to balance those with business strategy
  • Driving high quality levels in all HR operations, ensuring consistency and accuracy of processes, data, and systems
  • Working collaboratively with Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Inclusion & Diversity, and Total Rewards colleagues to address business needs and ensure full alignment with global HR initiatives and goals

You will need to have:

  • Ability to comfortably handle multiple and changing priorities
  • High sense of ethics, integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
  • High learning agility with natural ability to adapt to changing conditions
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to align and collaborate across distributed teams
  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.

We would prefer for you to have:

  • 5-8 years of Professional experience in a generalist HR support role, including in-depth knowledge and expertise in employee experience practices and principles and knowledge of the business and industry
  • Pharmaceutical Experience
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed environment
  • Bachelors Degree Required, advanced degree and/or professional certifications preferred
