Overview
The Director of Resident services for our Christopher Center memory care community ensures a high quality of life for our residents with Alzheimer’s or other dementia. He or she is responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of programs and activities within the Christopher Center. Utilizing the principles of our proprietary Reflections Memory Care program, this individual helps to assess the needs of residents within our memory care pavilions and train the staff of our special care units. The right individual for this position will have a working knowledge of the aging process and dementia, possess strong leadership skills, and work well as a compassionate liaison to our Christopher Center families.
Key Responsibilities
- Make daily rounds to evaluate the delivery of resident services
- Screen and assess the needs of new residents
- Review a program of resident activities, from daily care to social and recreational activities
- Recruit, interview, and train new hires, as well as providing ongoing in-service trainings for current employees
- Review resident service plans
- Oversee medication administration and quality assurance programs
- Actively participate in Christopher Center marketing efforts
- Protect residents’ rights, privacy, and dignity
- Other tasks as requested by supervisor
Qualifications
- RN preferred
- Previous long-term care experience and knowledge of assisted living regulations preferred
