DIRECTOR OF SALES, RETAIL - WEST (Remote), California United States
As the Director of Sales, Retail - West, you will be responsible for developing and driving strategic initiatives within retail and wholesale accounts to accelerate top line growth. You will develop and lead market strategy recommendations both internally and externally helping drive profitable distribution across the region. You will play a managing role in the Sales organization, and work closely with our Procurement, Demand Planning, Product Lifecycle, Operations, R&D / Quality, and Consumer Insights teams to devise successful solutions and processes that are built to drive sales. This role requires a team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment and is adaptable to change.
This is an incredible opportunity to join an amazing team that has already experienced huge growth, yet also has a ton of upside potential. This is a full-time role (Remote – Home Based) with company benefits based in Western USA region, preferably Los Angeles. Travel is up to 50%.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Strategic leader responsible for driving market penetration with retailer and distributor partners via in-person and virtual calls, retailer/distributor/ broker product trainings, food shows, etc.
- This leader will exhibit subject matter expertise and demonstrate from experience they have successfully built and created joint business planning models for customers.
- Develop annual business plans across region.
- Delivering key business and financial metrics including topline results (Revenue, Volume, Share) and key financial metrics (trade spend and EBITDA) is required.
- Collaborative leader working cross functionally developing and implementing overall customer selling stories, while providing key insights to deliver all key execution metrics (Assortment, Shelving, Pricing, Merchandising and Innovation).
- Develop and leverage top level category relationships at major accounts to optimize Teasdale's positioning in the market.
- Provide SIOP and Forecasting direction monthly across customer base to Teasdale Demand Planning team to ensure flawless execution via OTIF.
- Utilize business intelligence data including sales reporting, demand planning / forecasting, syndicated data, customer insights, and OTIF reporting to drive key selling stories as part of overall strategic planning with our customers and distributors.
- Manage and coordinate broker partners within markets.
- Manage key customer portal processes and procedures including but not limited to Trace One, Global Data Sync, Customer Specific Portals, and more.
- Work closely with cross functional teams including Sales, Customer Service, Finance, New Product Development, Demand Planning, and Operations to optimize sales flow.
WHAT'S REQUIRED:
- Experience planning and leading strategic initiatives
- Excellent data analytical and organizational skills
- Experience calling on retail and wholesale customers including UNFI / Supervalu, Marquez, C&S, Northgate, Winco, Superior, El Super, Smart & Final, Bashas, International – Mexico, etc.
- Ability to break down ambiguous problems into concrete, manageable components and think through optimal solutions
- Self-starter mentality with a high degree of follow-through; can own and take strategic initiatives to completion
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working in the consumer products industry is highly preferred
- Someone who gets things done, is innovative, and works with a sense of urgency
- Someone who has high standards, takes ownership, and is invested in the outcome
- Someone who proactively helps others stays positive and has a good sense of humor
- Bilingual – English and Spanish
