Primary Duties and Responsibilities

A Guidance Counselor of Bishop John Snyder High School is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Meet with students individually a minimum of twice yearly
• Present classroom guidance activities to freshmen, sophomores and juniors
• Assist with process of report cards
• Meet with and stay in contact with parents and students on academic probation
• Help coordinate and implement all guidance evening programs
• Help coordinate and implement on campus PSAT and AP testing
• Attend Open House
• Schedule students in appropriate classes
• Work with Principal/Dean when necessary to address student discipline issues
• Communicate with other school counselors and the Catholic Center as necessary
• Attend workshops to stay current (SAT, ACT, Counselor’s Meetings)
• Any other duties as assigned by the principal

Education and Training

A School Counselor of Bishop John Snyder High School must have the following qualifications:

• A master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in School Guidance and Counseling.
• Certification as a School Guidance Counselor

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $51,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
