We are looking for an experienced Director of Security Operations to organize and oversee the daily security operations within our company. You will ensure that our business is well-coordinated and productive by managing its safety & security procedures and coaching its people. The area of responsibility for this role is very wide and thus requires thorough knowledge of the security industry, current trends various business processes. The ideal candidate must be competent to handle multiple security operational activities. He/She must be an excellent leader who can provide efficient and effective operational procedures to safeguard and augment the proficiency of the company’s security field operations to facilitate development and long-term success.

Responsibilities

● Liaise with executive management to make decisions for annual operational activities and set strategic goals.

● Evaluate the efficiency of current safety & security procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements.

● Revise and/or formulate safety & security policies and promote their implementation.

● Evaluate overall field security operations performance by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data and metrics.

● Coordinate with the business development team to develop strategic operational site plans and ensure accounts are compliant

● Act as the main point of contact and provide high-quality customer service to clients through monthly meetings and ensure quality control with security post-order directives and corrective action plans.

● Manage relationships/agreements with clients and vendors; build and strengthen client relationships to achieve long-term partnerships.

● Oversee the Field Security Operations Management team to stay apprised of and address any actual or potential challenges; spearhead new client start-ups by planning, providing assessments, and conducting site surveys; review and ensure proper security operating procedures are in place at client locations.

● Recruits, selects, orients, trains, and develops high-caliber security professionals in collaboration with Human Resources; plans, assigns, and directs work; coaches' employees to enhance skills; carries out disciplinary actions as necessary.

● Maintains a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures in accordance with Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations (IDFPR); acts to ensure that staff members understand and comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures in accordance with IDFPR.

● Oversight of site staffing requirements; Monitor security officers' overtime and take appropriate action to drive overtime reduction initiatives. Audit each site’s structure to ensure scheduling is handled effectively to meet client requirements while controlling labor costs.

Requirements

● 5 or more years of proven experience as Director of Security Operations within the security industry or equivalent experience.

● Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.

● Ability to be an effective leader and member of teams.

● Ability to take initiative and achieve results.

● Handling and being exposed to sensitive and confidential information.

● Directing, motivating, training, coaching, and disciplining staff in a positive manner.

● Reading and analyzing reports and financial data, including related computer usage.

● Responding on an on-call basis to emergencies and incidents at all hours.

● Outstanding oral and written communication and people skills

● Great knowledge of security industry’s legal rules and guidelines (e.g. Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations (IDFPR) website)

● In-depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g. supply chain, finance, customer service, etc.)

● Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics

● Familiarity with MS Office/Google Suite

● BS/BA in business administration or relevant field; MS/MA will be a plus

Physical Requirements

· Occasional lifting of objects up to 30 pounds.

· The ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, kneel, push and or pull for extended time periods

· Work is routinely performed in office environments and in the field.
