POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision provides administrative direction for all phases of the security operation at the airport including Title 49 CFR. Part 1542 Regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Provides overall supervision of subordinates; develop, implement, and manage security program.
- Provides employee involvement/security awareness educational programs and training.
- Identifies and develops program issues impacting security operations.
- Analyzes department functions and make changes when appropriate to increase effectiveness and productivity.
- Reviews reports and situations for potential negative impact.
- Attends management meetings with client and various airport stakeholders.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
This classification is distinguished from other levels within the organization as the role typically performs routine duties.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Law Enforcement, or a closely related field and must have had, at a minimum, seven (7) years’ experience in security management or law enforcement field. Ten (10) years of security management or law enforcement experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the job.
- Certain contract agreements may require Must be Twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
- Certain contract agreements may require US Citizenship is required.
Preferred:
Master’s degree.
Valid state driver’s license with clear driving record.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Highly proficient with products to include office computers, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and job-related systems.
- Thorough understanding of the operations requirements at the airport.
Skill in:
- Excellent customer service skills, strong verbal skills as well as a high attention to detail as this position deals directly with all levels.
Abilities to:
- Work and interact with a variety of people including, but not limited to, HSS a Tarian Company employees, client employee, visitors, and the general public.
- Read, write, speak, and comprehend English language proficiently.
- Write detailed reports and correspondence.
