Behnke Inc is a small business in Battle Creek, MI. We are a family trucking company seeking an organized, friendly, and energetic Dedicated Dispatcher / Driver Manager. We are a well rounded, complete transportation company based out of Battle Creek, MI. The dispatcher is responsible for the scheduling and management of truck drivers' daily loads and provides customer service. This position keeps accurate records of the calls they receive, the drivers, and the actions they take. The dispatcher also needs to adjust to last-minute changes, as well as adjust to a constantly shifting transportation environment. Job Requirements:
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong focus on driver retention
- An understanding of drivers and their life on the road including regulations and laws
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel;Behnke Specific: EDI, AS400, Innovative
Job Expectations:
- Commitment to Safety policies and procedures, and ability to promote awareness.
- Booking and coordination of freight - in a cost-effective manner for the company.
- Communicate with drivers on pick-up and delivery of loads.
- Scheduling pick-up and delivery appointment times with customers and drivers.
- Communicating effectively with customers, shippers, and receivers regarding any changes
- Pick-up/delivery and potential service failures.
- Pre-planning the use of company drivers and equipment for optimal efficiency.
- Track/trace shipments as needed.
- Negotiating rates and delivery time lineThis position is looking for an individual with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as a team player who is able to work well independently. The Dispatcher will be responsible for monitoring transportation activity, responding to customer requests and resolving problems that occur during transport. They will also be responsible for creating and managing the organization's transportation database. The ideal candidate for the position will have an extensive knowledge of transportation schedules, routes and policies, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, suppliers and team members.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
