The Claims Administrator is responsible for reviewing all damage utility claims or 3rd party claims for

the entire locates division. This position will be responsible for creating and managing a “claims

tracking system” that captures all responsible claims, their invoice number, damage investigation

number, accrued costs, actual costs, responsible party, size and material of facility damaged, and

other information as needed. This position will be required to verify and transmit accurate monthly

accruals by project to the finance team and track actual claims costs to ensure quarterly true ups. This

position will receive all claims invoices and will either send denial letters or enter claims information

into “claims tracking system,” continually update average accrual estimates, and code all invoices to

be paid. This position may be required to attend multiple claims meetings with our customers and will

need to prepare documentation to present all pertinent information for each individual damage

claim. This position will work closely with the Director of Claims, Claims Coordinators, and Damage

Investigators to continually reduce the exposure associated with all claims and Heath’s financial

liability with said claims.

Responsibilities and Critical Success Measures

§ Tracking all locate damages/3rd party claims and following up to ensure there is a

completed/accurate investigation; review completed damage reports for accuracy and ensure

all pertinent facts to help support our findings are present.

§ Ensuring that all legal documentation, such as release of liability letters are received back and

are accounted for prior to approving or releasing claims to be paid.

§ Create and maintain claims tracking system to display liable damages by locators for auditing

purposes.

§ Provide fiscal accruals of all expenses related to damages that are deemed liable for all

locating projects. Track payment of claims to ensure quarterly true ups take place.

§ Act as a point of contact between Heath and the client in any matters related to the claims

process, negotiating claims costs and liability with our clients or 3rd party vendors.

§ Work with the Director of Claims and the Heath’s Legal Department to ensure all

investigations/claims/invoices are completed in a timely manner and in a way that best

protects the interests of the company and our clients.

§ Take part in division meetings; attend damage prevention meetings and conferences as

needed.

§ File and complete all required reports with any state administrative body as required by state

law. Provide detailed report of number of damages and root causes to Director of Business

Analysis on a fiscal month basis.

§ Follow all company and client safety, quality, and operational policies and procedures.

§ Serve the customer, and exceed their expectations, as they are our priority.

Other duties as assigned by the Director of Claims, General Manager – Locates Division, or Vice President of Operations – Locates Division.
