Job description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Assists contributors with donations and move materials within the store as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Accepts donations by providing assistance to contributors and issuing donation receipts.
2. Maintains a professional and courteous attitude at all times, willing to be flexible and assume new job responsibilities, as needed.
3. Commits to self and job improvement and team building.
4. Treats every customer and contributor as if they were a GUEST in their home. GUEST stands for Greet, Understand, Explain, Suggest and Thank.
5. Pre-sort donations, separates salvage and removes.
6. Uses hand truck to move materials around donation center and/or moves materials within the store as needed.
7. Accepts donations of good quality and politely refuses unacceptable items.
8. Pre-sorts donations by established categories and safely packs for transport.
9. Helps to unload unfinished goods from truck and moves to proper staging area and assists team members with distribution of goods.
10. Maintains a clean and safe environment.
11. Completes accurate daily and weekly records when assigned.
12. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum requirement; general educational background without high school completion, plus 0 to 6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read a limited number of words and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers; Ability to write and speak simple sentences as a means for basic communication.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers. Ability to perform these mathematical skills using money and other forms of measurement.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to use common sense understanding in order to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few known variables in situations of a routine nature.
