Description:

The Drafting Technician utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software and mapping systems to prepare network maps of outside plant extensions and to record changes to the existing outside plant network derived from layouts and sketches. Follows established technical specifications to prepare drawings. Consults with engineers regarding accuracy of design standards. Keeps records of outside plant accurate at all times.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Knowledge of electronics and network drafting principles and practices; Knowledge of telecommunications products, services, and service delivery methods; Proficient in the use of computer aided drafting software; Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; Ability to read and interpret technical documents and forms including work orders, staking sheets, schematics and circuit diagrams; Ability to analyze and effectively document large volumes of technical data; Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner; Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments; Ability to pay close attention to detail; Ability to work independently; Ability to make sound decisions using information at hand; Ability to travel for business requirements; must possess a valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record. Ability to performing effectively in a project team environment.
