Compensation
- This is an hourly position with a starting pay of $36.96 per hour for 1st shift. The rotating shift has a premium of $1.18 per hour (a total hourly wage of $38.14).
- Double time is awarded for any hours worked during each Sunday of the year.
Shift
- Start on 1st shift (6am-3pm Monday through Friday, a 45-hour work week).
- Must be willing to also work rotating 12s (6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am on a 2-week rotation), based on upcoming retirements and changes to seniority preferences.
Responsibilities Include
- Work safely and actively participates in a culture of safety minded team members.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production and facilities related equipment to ensure proper and safe operation of all systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair both low voltage and high voltage circuits in a timely and orderly manner.
- Perform basic and advanced diagnosis to determine root cause failure with the aid of blueprints and schematics, also perform replacement of motors, meters, switches, photo-eyes and other electrical components.
- Effectively analyze PLC’s, HMI’s, and VFD’s for improper operation and perform corrective measures.
- Effectively utilize tools such as PC’s, multimeters, thermography, vibration analysis, and oscilloscopes to troubleshoot electrical equipment.
- Effectively utilize a computerized maintenance management system to retrieve assigned work and document maintenance activities such as work completed, parts request, inventory usage, etc.
- Install new electrical control systems and maintain existing control systems as directed.
- Advanced team members will design, layout, program, install new equipment.
- Effectively communicate both verbally and written with managers, supervisors, schedulers, as well as maintenance and operations team members.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Abilities Include
- Possess a 5-year apprenticeship state industrial journeyman’s card, required.
- Completed 1-year course for 50-414-2 Electrical & Instrumentation, required.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience as an Industrial Electrician or Technician in a related field.
- Perform tests and maintenance procedures for instruments used for measuring and controlling flow, level pressure, temperature, and other variables in manufacturing and processing.
- Calibrate components and instruments according to manufacturer’s specifications.
- Install control and measurement instruments on existing and new plant equipment and processes.
- Experience in PLC and HMI programming in closed loop control systems.
- Advanced VS drive systems experience with web handling equipment.
- Ability to work in a USW Union environment.
- Ability to work 12-hour swing shift that includes weekend.
- Personal computer skills in Microsoft products, networking, and computer maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated continuing self-development.
- Strong leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a team to reach a common goal.
A post-offer background check, and pre-employment physical with a drug screen is required.
