Job Description:
As an Electrician Second Class, you will perform electrical maintenance and repair on equipment throughout the facility. You may also work on processes to improve efficiency.
- Assist 1st class electrician with any electrical plant equipment, facility,
and/or process, in addition to performing incidental work including Basic
Mechanical Skills. - Completes basic projects with minimal supervision.
- Skilled in the use of most shop tools and equipment.
- Installs, calibrates, maintains, repairs, trouble-shoots plant equipment, related processes, and facility infrastructure with the assistance of a 1st class electrician.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Any other maintenance duties as assigned alongside a 1st class electrician.
- Must have two (2) years of verifiable industrial electrical experience as a 2nd class electrician or two years of electrical training/education and one year of related experience.
- Must successfully complete all AGY's assessment criteria, (including, but not limited to, electrical equipment series assessment, high school diploma or equivalent. etc.)
- HS Diploma/GED; Technical Certificate preferred
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Must be able to push, pull, reach, bend, squat, twist, turn, climb, work overhead, wear required PPE, and work in a hot, confined environment
- Must be able work various shifts including nights, weekends and overtime with a 1st class electrician.
