• Make recommendations for the correct instrumentation device for different applications.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and lead large scale breakdowns.
• Setup communications in NetPro, Profinet, Profibus, and Hart.
• Program HMI’s according to given standards.
• Scope and coordinate projects.
• Communicate with and manage contractors.
• Troubleshoot a variety of components, processes, and equipment and then make or lead the respective repairs.
• Perform electrical repairs on several types of electrical equipment per SOP’s and PM’s.
• Perform electrical and controls layouts, update and create electrical drawings either on paper or in AutoCAD (AutoCAD is not a requisite skill), create and modify PLC and HMI programs. Select, install, configure, and calibrate instruments and devices.
• Provide electrical SOP training to technicians.
• Test equipment for safety and efficiency.
• Operates various electrical troubleshooting equipment to include, but not limited to: O-scopes, multi-meters, amp probes, megometers, etc.
• Supports Industrial Technicians on mechanical repairs and installations.
• Participates in the company’s Safety Program.
• Works overtime as required.

Requirements

• Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
• Two to three years related experience and/or training.
• Ability to work on call, nights, and weekends.
• Understand Siemens S7 (300, 400, 1500) and specific programming standards.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to position himself/herself to operate, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or or maintain heavy plant equipment. The employee must be able to inspect equipment and detect equipment malfunctions, as well as utilize tools to repair and maintain equipment.
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high and/or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold and extreme heat and confined spaces. The employee occasionally works with acidic or caustic chemical systems. A respirator may be required at times. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
