University Instructors (UI) is seeking passionate Early Literacy K-5 Tutors to join our growing team in Denver, Colorado. In this position you will lead small group tutoring sessions based on the Science of Reading method.

In this role you’ll:

• Engage with students in a friendly and professional manner, requesting information about the course, activity, and content so you can help meet the students needs.
• Respond to student questions in a positive and supportive manner providing as detailed an answer as possible.
• Prepare for each tutoring session following English language arts Standards for Colorado in alignment with the specific grade level you are supporting.
• Work with the students to set and maintain progress goals throughout the summer session.
• Support with recess, lunch and other activities as assigned.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and skills:

To be successful in this role you will need to :

• Adhere to strict academic standards around the Science of Reading Method.
• Demonstrate the ability to create a positive learning environment that is motivating for all students.
• Provide feedback and coaching in a manner that promotes learning and growth
• Demonstrate the ability to actively listen and deliver information in a clear and succinct manner.
• Pay attention to detail in all aspects of the role including note taking and documentation.
• Multitask.

Education and Other Requirements:

• MUST be local to the Denver-area
• MUST be able to commute reliably to your assigned school site
• Hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree by August 2022

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
