The Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) Coordinator will work to ensure the Strafford County Public Health Network’s (SCPHN) emergency planning efforts and projects are collaborative, operational and meet the needs of Strafford County residents. The SCPHN is a program partner of Greater Seacoast Community Health. The Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator will be responsible for oversight of all emergency plans associated with SCPHN's role as the lead for coordinating public health and healthcare services during emergencies on behalf of Strafford County. Being the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator means you'll be responsible for assessing public health emergency preparedness, including operational and educational needs, and plans, develops, and implements strategies and education/training programs to our partners and community members, as appropriate. The PHEP Coordinator has frequent interaction with Emergency Management Services personnel, hospitals and health care organizations, first responders, education facilities, and community based organizations. Coordination with other program directors and service providers is essential. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Public Health Manager and as part of the SCPHN team.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred in, public health, Emergemnct Management or related field; or Bachelor’s degree/ and three- five years’ experience in public health and or emergency management
- Experience in healthcare preferred; EMT, RN or LPN licensure welcome and valued
Job Duties
- Coordinate quarterly regional PHEP planning committees/workgroups
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners in Strafford County to collaborate on and support emergency preparedness-related activities, projects and strategies
- Work as part of the SCPHN team to advance strategic initiatives that drive the priorities of the public health network as they relate to public health emergency preparedness
- Provide leadership through guidance, technical assistance, and training to community partners to plan, implement and evaluate strategies related to emergency preparedness and response
- Work to improve regional emergency response plans. Work to improve the capacity for partner entities to mitigate, prepare for, respond to and recover from public health emergencies.
- Meet DHHS expectations for trainings and connectedness to current programs and priorities.
- Mainmtain training offered by Department’s DPHS and/or EPRR or the agency contracted by the Department’s DPHS to provide training programs
- Maintain organization of all necessary documentation for operations of vaccination clinics or other operations, as needed
- Complete required reporting, as requested by DHHS and other funders
- Conduct activities such as staff notification, acknowledgement and assembly drills
- Provide leadership and coordination of the PHN’s COVID-19 activities
