Program Overview
The Office of Health Policy and AIDS Funding, a division of the New Orleans Health Department, is seeking to fill a full-time position as the Ending the Epidemic Coordinator. This position serves as a Health Policy and Planning Specialist for the Ending the HIV Epidemic Initiative.
Job Requirements
The EHE Coordinator is responsible for professional work in support of the Office Health Policy and AIDS Funding. Work involves the analysis of epidemiological data, grant and report writing and related work to fulfill grant requirements across multiple funding streams. Incumbent will be required to master HRSA and CDC legislation to support assigned grants.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, Social or Health Sciences or related field. Master’s preferred.
- Must have a minimum of one-year experience in HIV-related health and human services.
- Must be proficient in computer-based formats related to planning and evaluation
- Be comfortable interacting with persons from various backgrounds,
- Have experience working with the public sector and operating across sectors,
- Have experience and knowledge in two or more of the following: community health planning, developing systems of care, needs assessment, data collection and analysis, and program evaluation.
- Have experience in data analysis
- Have experience in using statistical analysis programs
DUTIES
- Provides data analysis of utilization and expenditure trends.
- Evaluates program activity to prepare impact assessment of EHE service activity
- Supports quality improvement initiatives
- Prepares presentation on findings as directed
- Prepares EHE reports and other Conditions of Award.
- Writes and assists with grant submissions.
- Collects information and maintains database of HIV data sets
- Coordinates activities with OHP Director, OHP Quality Manager, CDC EHE Supervisor and CDC Community and Engagement Coordinators.
- Attends meetings as directed (some meetings may be after normal working hours).
- Maintains electronic files on assigned data in an easily retrievable format.
- Experience working with consumers and professionals from diverse communities.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $56,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
